Nursing technology
Technology plays an integral role for Community nurses. We’re taking steps to fully integrate communication technology to help our nurses make better, more-informed decisions by providing real-time information where and when they need it. Innovative technology has enabled us to take patient care to the next level by giving us more quality time with patients.
Here are a few examples of how our technology allows us to make a difference:
Bedside documentation
Allows us to electronically capture patient information and make the data available to Community staff whenever they need it. In addition, more than one staff member can access the same information at the same time. Once the patient data has been entered, it is permanently stored for future visits so patients do not have to repeat basic information like their address and phone number, unless there is a change.
Physician order entry
Allows physicians to enter orders directly into the computer, instead of writing them in a paper chart, which allows orders to be carried out more efficiently and effectively.
Dose charting
Uses bar code technology for the drug, patient and caregiver to ensure that the right patient is given the right drug at the right time and in the right dosage.
Chartview
Allows physicians and nurses to view patient data including labs, transcribed reports, nursing documentation and EKG tracing electronically at the push of a button.
Record link
Eliminates the need for medical record chart storage, saving time searching for medical records and pulling charts.
