Family Medicine and Pediatric Care, 56th St., is closed to new patients at this time. We are a considerate and personable staff of professionals who are committed to providing quality health care to adults, teens, children and newborns. Our physicians strive to provide the finest medical advice by keeping up to date with the latest data and research.
Our friendly and efficient staff is able to schedule appointments and keep our patients in contact with their physicians. Our practice manager is on site and able to answer questions about a range of concerns from the practice itself to insurance and billing issues. Lawrence Family Care and Pediatrics utilizes a computerized electronic medical records system that allows physicians and staff to communicate with our patients more efficiently.

Meet Katie McLaughlin, PA-C!
Katie is now available to see patients. As a physician assistant, she enjoys working in primary care, treating children, and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and more. Katie focuses on educating patients regarding proper diet, exercise, smoking cessation, medications and disease processes.
Katie McLaughlin is an Indianapolis native. She attended Cathedral High School moving on to Indiana University where she received her bachelor of science in nutrition science with minors in chemistry and biology. After graduation, she attended the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she received a master’s degree as a physician assistant. What is a physician assistant?
Katie has more than six years of health care experience working for Community Health Network in endocrinology, internal medicine and urgent care prior to joining our practice. She enjoys working in primary care and especially enjoys treating children and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease and osteoporosis. Katie also focuses her practice on educating patients regarding proper diet, exercise, smoking cessation, medications and disease processes.
Katie is actively involved with the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants (IAPA), serving on the board and as a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). She also serves as an adjunct professor in the Masters of Physician Assistant Studies program at the Indiana University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in Indianapolis.
Katie is also an active volunteer in her community in Indianapolis and abroad. Katie has done medical mission work in the Dominican Republic as part of her work with Solid Rock International. Katie also organizes a yearly food drive for Gleaners Food Bank, collecting items for families in need around the holidays. In the past, she has donated her time working with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) fundraising, organizing events and educating the public on diabetes.
When she is not working, Katie enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog Bella. She also enjoys doing home renovation projects, cooking and working out at her local Crossfit gym.
